About Rail Aid
Protecting children with nobody to turn to
Every year thousands of children run away from care or from homes that have become unbearable as a result of poverty, abuse, violence or neglect. Reaching a child as soon as possible is crucial to getting to children on the streets before an abuser can, and before they become entrenched in street life. Railway Children race to get to children before the streets get to them, and support them for as long as it takes.
Who we are
Rail Aid unites the UK rail community to fundraise, through a series of events and experiences, for the work of Railway Children – a leading children’s charity working with vulnerable children on streets and rail networks across India, Tanzania and the UK.
As well as generating over one million pounds to support children who are alone and at risk, Rail Aid has given those working across the UK rail industry, a chance to get together, build connections, raise their profile and have a great time!
And this year is no different!
